Choosing Your Blog Topic
If you are looking for a topic to blog about and earn income from your blog, here’s a few tips you may want to read.
1. Be passionate – make sure that the topic you write about moves you and that you are passionate about it. You will be writing content after content – and you just want ot make sure you are passionate about it – or you will probably lose steam after a few blog posts. Make sure this is a topic that YOU would be interested in and is something you read about a lot and do a lot.
2. Information and Readership – make sure that the topic you are writing about has an un-ending depth of writable content and topics. This will mostly be the case with most topics. Make sure that there are readers out there that would like to read about this topic and are excited and probably passionate about the topic like you are. These readers should read and post comments to your blog articles. They should come back for more and more content regularly and subscribe to your blog RSS feed. Surf around and check if your proposed blogging topic has potential. The best way is to look at technorati.com and see if others are blogging about the topic in mind. For example, the information I write on this Successonline.in blog is about making money online and being successfull online – and there are plenty of people writing, reading and commenting on this hot topic.
4. The competition – if you want to eventually make some money while blogging, study the competition. See what other bloggers are wrting about in the topic of choice and how many of them are out there. Dont be let down if there are plenty of people. That should encourage you to join in – as there is probably a huge market and a lot of readers – which is why people are blogging about the topic in the first place. So, get started now! On the other hand, if there are very few bloggers on this topic – that is also a sign of encouragement. Get going right away. Be a strong beleiver in “If you build it – they will come”. Once you go live – start marketing your blog. There is defintely a niche audience out there that wants to hear what you have to say and come to your blog regularly and form a niche community around your topic. People love to form communities and feel a strong sense of belonging – specially around subjects they are passionate about.

6. www.blogger.com or your own website? – If you are going to blog very in-frequently and do not have any need or wish to monetize your blog, goto www.blogger.com and sign up for free. They will give you a URL like yourtopicname.blogger.com and you can get cracking immediately. If you are going to blog for money and be serious about it – then I suggest you get a website and install a blogging application on it like WordPress. 7. Get started! The final step is to move fast. Dont wait around to long to take the first step… or you will probably never get going. Finalize your topic and get started.
